Each country (and each state in USA) has its own licensing requirements on contractors.
Electricians and plumbers (due to specifics of their work) must be licensed in all states but general construction contractors or home improvement contractors in certain states do not have to be licensed. In other states, the state doesnīt require the state-wide license but local authorities may require roofers be licensed on the county or city/town level.

Basically, I created the
RCP roofers directory using a database I bought approximately 2 years ago from an IT company specialized in database products.
As RoofingChildsPlay.Com was just a one man army (and still is) and I was realistic enough to admit I will never be able to keep a database of 4000 roofers 100% up-to-date I was skeptic and decided not use the database until now.
I still think such huge directory cannot be update by only one person. Yellow pages fail in that and they have dozens of employee...
Finally I {almost} finished
my roofing contractor directory. It is still pretty far from perfect but it contains {impressive number of} 4000 records and each profile page does its best to help you to check that roofing company`s contact details, find its reliability report or current license status.

Hammond who was running his roofing business through three
Benton roofing companies (Centamark, Kwik Seal and Allied Roofing) used to sign the roof repair contracts with prospective customers, then he collected payments but failed to even start the repair work.
The Consumer Fraud Bureau, that investigated Timothy Hammond based on several customersī complaints found such pseudo-performance a
