If You Wanna Save On Insulation, Move To Florida
I am a pragmatic guy.
I usually neither loose my consciousness when an energy distribution company publishes a PR where it praises itself for how much it helps its clients nor I admire this sort of companies as I also pay the bills and know how much of my hard earned cash disappears from my wallet each and every month.
Nevertheless, the same
Florida Power & Light Company keeps me thunder-struck.
In the past they implemented quite successful energy conservation program for their residential and business clients and now they are even increasing the incentives the clients can get if they install an energy efficient equipment.
So what the Florida residents have what I, here in the middle of Central Europe, can only dream of?
Maximum incentives for the residential segment (per participant):
- $352 for ceiling insulation;
- $367 for the reflective roof coating;
- $1.200 for the reflective roof and light-colored roof membranes;
- $45 for air condition maintenance;
- $400 for upgrading the old
air conditioning to newer more energy efficient unit;
Maximum incentives for business segment:
- $219/kW for the roof insulation;
- $579/kW for reflective roof coat;
- $881/kW after installation of the heat recovery unit;
- etc, etc...
