How To Check Roofing Contractor License From Within Our Roofers Directory
Each country (and each state in USA) has its own licensing requirements on contractors.
Electricians and plumbers (due to specifics of their work) must be licensed in all states but general construction contractors or home improvement contractors in certain states do not have to be licensed. In other states, the state doesnīt require the state-wide license but local authorities may require roofers be licensed on the county or city/town level.
To check if the roofer is dully licensed, first go and find that roofer in our
roofing contractors directory.
I will explain how to do so more in details on a sample roofer.
Letīs say you are from Santa Fe, New Mexico and youīre searching for some reliable metal roofing company, so you go to our
New Mexico Roofing Contractors.
Guaranteed Roofing and Sheet MTL sounds pretty reliable, doesnīt it? So, letīs check their license.
Visit the
Guaranteed Roofing and Sheet MTLīs profile page and click the "Licensed roofing contractor" link under "License". You should be redirected to
Psiexams whe you will see a form.
As we are going to search for a roofing company please check the "Search Company" button, then copy the name of the company to the "Business name" field and hit enter (or click the search button).
Unfortunately, the search engine was unable to find any records on this company name. To improve our chances to get a correct result we will broaden the search query little bit and instead of Guaranteed Roofing and Sheet MTL we will only search for "Guaranteed Roofing" (if youīre getting no results, just play little bit with the name of the roofing company or other form fields, sooner or later you hit the
nail on its head).
This time we are more successful and get 2 records both for a company called Guaranteed Roofing Service. As the address is the same as of our "Guaranteed Roofing and Sheet MTL" (309 Fiesta Avenue, Santa Fe) we know we found the right roofing contractor.
Checking the records we see that the license status is "CANCELLED" and that the license expired on 04/30/2007. It seems that this roofing contractor is not licensed at the moment Iīam writing this article (October 2007).

Itīs up to you if you choose "Guaranteed Roofing and Sheet Mtl" but I would personally not recommend it as the company seems not to be fulfilling its legal obligations.
